The Kings XI Punjab is a  franchise cricket team in IPL, representing the city of Mohali in Punjab. The franchise is jointly owned by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta, Wadia Group scion Ness Wadia, Dabur's Mohit Burman, and Karan Paul. According to the information of ABP Ananda news, Brad Hodge is the head coach of this team and he has huge experience in the T20 format. The primary home ground of the Kings XI Punjab is there PCA stadium Mohali in Punjab. In IPL 2018, former CSK player Ravichandran Ashwin was appointed the captain of Kings XI Punjab, The Kings XI Punjab has decided to retain just one player Axar Patel for rupees 6.75 crores and they purchase 20 players during the two-day auction in Bengaluru, written by Aajkal Patrika newspaper. KL Rahul costliest Indian player for rupees 11 crores on the first day of the auction. The local boy Yuvraj Singh is making a comeback to the side while Chris Gayle who, was not retained by RCB and had gone and sold twice in the auction and finally he has brought by Rupees 2 crore. 

All-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin, batsman KL Rahul and Australian first bowler Andrew Tye also made headlines after they were brought by Punjab franchise for Rs 7.6 crore, 11 crores, and 7.2 crores. The Kings XI Punjab kept David Miller Marcus stones and Mohit Sharma for rupees 3 crores 6.2 crores and 2 crores in the set up by exercising the right to match card (RTM). The KXIP  strong batting lineup Yuvraj Singh, Manoj Tiwary, David Miller, KL Rahul, Chris Gayle, Karun Nair, Aaron Finch, and Mayank Agarwal, while they have a compact batting line up. The KXIP bowling unit looks pretty stable with the likes of Mohit Sharma, Andrew Typ, Barinder saran, Axar Patel, Ankit Rajpoot, and Ben Dwarshuis.
